Paul Louis
Born and raised in New York City, Paul received formal training at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, honing his skills as an actor and performer. As a longtime member of Actors Equity Association, he has graced stages across the USA, leaving an indelible mark on over 100 professional productions. From regional theaters to national tours and Off Broadway, Paul’s versatility shines through in every role he undertakes.
His accolades include four nominations and a Best Actor award from Florida’s prestigious Carbonell Awards. But Paul’s artistic endeavors extend beyond the footlights. He has written, scored, and directed more than 25 professional children’s theater musicals, captivating young audiences while serving as the resident artistic director at the former Shores Performing Arts Theater in Miami, Florida.
As a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, Paul’s work shines across several film and television productions. Notably, he co-starred in the hit British kids’ series ‘Miami 7,’ alongside the iconic British pop group S Club 7.
Paul’s voice resonates across the airwaves, where he brings to life hundreds of iconic characters in film and television. His musical talents are equally impressive—he plays over seven instruments, infusing his work with a melodic richness that captivates audiences. His creative genius extends to the realm of children’s music, where he has penned and published over 500 delightful children’s songs. Notably, he is the creative force behind “JELLY BEAN JUNGLE,” a former nationally syndicated live-action puppetry children’s TV series. Even President Bill Clinton praised it as “high-quality children’s programming.” The home video versions of “Jelly Bean Jungle” received an Award of Excellence from The Film Advisory Board.
But Paul’s creativity knows no bounds. He also conceived, wrote, and directed “BLIP & BLAB: LANGUAGE EXPLORERS,” an internationally aired children’s TV/Video/DVD puppet series designed to teach English as a second language. His advisory role with Peru’s famous TV star puppets, LOS CHOPPETS, further underscores his impact on global entertainment.
Beyond the stage and screen, Paul has directed numerous TV and home video productions, creating over 20,000 HOW-TO videos for Demand Media. His talents extend into animation, both 2D and 3D. As an award-winning filmmaker, his documentary “The Rican-ing of White Boy” earned the audience choice award for Best Documentary at The Rincon International Film Festival in Puerto Rico. His second short musical film, “Duddlington the Different,” explored the world of a little elephant on the autism spectrum—a touching tribute to his daughter, Hali, who has Asperger’s Syndrome.
Most recently, Paul’s award-winning short film “Army Men” delves into the sensitive topics of adolescent depression and teen suicide. Based on a true story, it has garnered Best Film awards and artist acclaim in multiple film festivals.
His finely honed puppetry skills, nurtured by Sesame (Street) Workshop, propelled him into several captivating puppet projects, including the iconic film ‘Team America: World Police (directed by Trey Parker and Matt Stone). An influential figure in the world of Internet puppetry education and live puppeteer workshops, he has launched the careers of several principal Muppet/Henson/Sesame Street performers.
Paul is also a published playwright. His co-authored musical comedy, “Real Men Sing Showtunes and Play With Puppets,” premiered in 2013 at Actor’s Playhouse in Coral Gables, Florida, and went on to a successful limited run at Off-Broadway’s New World Stages.
Currently residing in Flushing, NY, Paul continues to produce thought-provoking projects across various mediums—film, TV, web, and theater. His legacy as a creative force remains unmatched, inspiring audiences worldwide.
